Shakespeare said, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorn'd" but a woman's open anger is nothing compared to the actions of a man who has had his path crossed. There is no limit to which he will not go, no deceit to which he will not stoop in an effort to soothe his bruised ego. Of course, Shakespeare also said the "men are deceivers ever" so I think he really knew where the fault lay.
